WELCOME TO MENAI PRIMARY SCHOOL LIBRARY

The library is an integral part of the learning programs in our school. It is a place where students can read, have fun with puzzles and games and browse at their leisure. It is also a centre for teaching and learning through the use of Information Skills to research. Students experience a wide range of quality Literature. The Library program is integrated with class programs.

The Library is a really busy space which is used by classes, teachers, small groups, parents and visiting presenters.

THE LIBRARY, LEARNING AND LEISURE

LUNCHTIME ACTIVITIES

Our student library monitors assist other students during lunchtime activities. Some activities enjoyed by children include games and puzzles, listening to stories or puppet shows, individual reading, reading stories to young children and computer activities. Student Monitors gain further experiences by assisting with Library jobs. Volunteers enjoy designing and organizing visual displays, borrowing and returning books, helping Early Stage One and Stage One students, shelving books and generally tidying the Library.

My Library can be used by students and staff to search the Menai School Library Collection at home via the staff or student portal. New resources are selected to reflect the curriculum, NSW Department of Education and Training documents and our Menai Cares school values.
