How and when do I enrol?
Parents are required to submit an Application to Enrol form to the school prior to their child's enrolment being accepted.

Parents must also submit:

•  An Immunisation Certificate
•  Proof of Age
•  Proof of Residency Address
•  If temporary residents, Passport and Visa documents, and possibly an Authority to Enrol document from the Department of Education and Communities.

How do I know when my child should start school?
Children are eligible to enrol in Kindergarten if they turn five years old by 31 July and must commence school in the year they turn 6. Your early childhood centre will provide you with advice about school readiness and you are also welcome to discuss your child's readiness for school with us. Please contact the Principal.

What transition programs are provided?
Menai Public School offers a comprehensive transition to school program which includes parent information sessions and student orientation sessions.

Kindergarten Orientation sessions are held in Term Four. This allows our new students to become familiar and comfortable with their new school environment.

While children are becoming familiar with their new school environment through classroom activities we run workshops for parents. These workshops are aimed at providing parents and carers with valuable information to support families in this extremely important transition.

How do I know when my child should start school?

Visiting the School
Anyone visiting the school must visit the front office our friendly office staff will assist with any enquiries. This includes parents who are bringing their children to school late or picking them up early.

What do I do if my child is late for school?
School begins at 9.25am. All students arriving after 9.25am are to be taken to the office to collect a late note which must be handed to the class teacher.

What do I do if I have to pick up my child early?
All early leavers must be signed out of the office prior to being collected from classrooms. A message will be phoned through to the classroom and the student will be brought to the front office. In the interest of the safety of students, teachers are required to sight the Early Leavers Note before releasing students from class.

How does the school deal with medical issues?
The school needs to be aware of any medical conditions that affect its students prior to enrolment or immediately following any change. This includes asthma, anaphylaxis and other allergies. The school will develop a health care plan for students with serious or life threatening conditions that require management at the school level.

Any student falling ill at school will be taken to the sick bay, next to the office. You will be contacted to take your child home if they present as ill or injured at school.

If your child requires medication at school please provide medication to the office staff. Parents will be required to sign a medication release form.

What do I do if my child is sick?
Please notify the school office if your child is sick or complete the online form ‘absence notification' via the website.  A doctor's certificate is also required for longer absences or when the school requests one.

How do I place a lunch order for my child?
The school canteen is open each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Lunch orders can be placed in classroom canteen tubs or over the counter, by 9:25am.

Who do I see about any problems concerning my child’s education?
Any issues with your child's education or wellbeing should be directed to the classroom teacher. If you wish to speak to your child's teacher, please submit and interview request form via the website and your child's teacher will contact you to confirm a time.
Your child's teacher will refer issues that cannot be resolved at the class level or more serious issues to the school's executive or to the Learning Support Team for follow up.

How and when do I pay my School Fees?
Invoices Fees should be paid promptly or on the date specified in the written correspondence. Payment are made in the following ways:

1. Online through the Online Store
2. In person (Cash, Cheque and EFTPOS) * Amex is not accepted.
3. Sent with your child using the form provided in a clearly marked envelope

When are the major school events held?
Dates for major school events are updated regularly on the calendar and updates are provided in the weekly newsletter.
