Brian Casey: Late '90s/Early 2000s

While her career blossomed in Destiny’s Child, LeToya found herself dating fellow R&B star, Brian Casey of Jagged Edge, for a few years.

When her close friend/bandmate LaTavia Roberson appeared on TV One’s Unsung, she admitted that LeToya dated Brian while she dated his twin brother, Brandon. The girl group’s management felt the men and those relationships were negatively affecting them.

Both romances were kept secret until an incident on tour involving LeToya’s mother led to the admission. It’s unclear how much time passed between the aforementioned situation and LeToya and LaTavia being replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin.

LaTavia also shared that “Promise” is about her, while Brian once hinted that JE’s hit ballad, “Walked Outta Heaven,” was about LeToya. He confessed that she reportedly once asked him, “Brian Casey, why can’t you just do right?” They did discuss reconciling at one point, but according to him, he wasn’t ready to “do right” — so to speak.

Slim Thug: 2002-2011

LeToya’s relationship with rapper Slim Thug was her longest one on record after being together, on and off, for a decade. They met at the club and had their first date at the aquarium.

They were even engaged at one point, but according to him, the life he wanted as a family man wasn’t something his “environment” allowed. On her YouTube show, Leave It To LeToya, Luckett said, “We tried to have something very serious at a very young age.”

Confessing, “You couldn’t see him without seeing me, and that can be attractive to other women. I think he leaned into that a little bit…if you will. He definitely enjoyed himself along that journey. And I will say for me, I’ll take responsibility. I would get frustrated and I would leave a lot.”

The “Check On It” rapper chimed in, “The small breakups, disagreements that we would have that would separate us and I would think that it’s a real breakup, it opened up the doors [for other women]. If we didn’t have that, it wouldn’t have been no issue.”

The Houston natives reconnected in 2022 while the singer was freshly divorced. Their chemistry, though, was very evident to fans.

She gushed, “I love his confidence. He has always been confident […] When he walks in, I mean, first of all, he’s 6’ 6″. That’s always cute, and then, you know what I’m sayin’, he’s handsome. It’s a light on him when he walks in any room. It’s attractive.”

He shared, “Something surprising was her personality. She’s silly like we’d have a great time. Her sense of humor is high and you’ll really laugh a lot dealing with Toya. I didn’t know that she was that funny. When I got to know her more, what I liked about her was the friendship. I felt like we was for real BFFs […] That’s something so rare.”

The two have remained good friends over the years, and for her, connecting with him“felt like home.”

Joseph 'Jo Blaq' Macklin: 2013-2015

Joseph ‘Jo Blaq‘ Macklin is a Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, engineer, and vocal arranger, according to Primary Wave. He helped produce LeToya’s 2017 Back 2 Life album, but prior to that, the two were quietly in a two-year relationship that they kept offline.

When speaking on why she kept their union under wraps, she explained to ABC News Radio, “I wanted to make sure that I built a foundation before just putting it out there. You know what I mean? I wanted to make sure that this is something real, that this is something that’s true and honest and not just to have a picture to post on Instagram. I think now its one of those things of, OK, this is something real. It’s honest. It’s not perfect. It’s two people that truly, truly, truly love each other but are friends.”

Rob Hill Sr.: 2015-2016

LeToya and author/public speaker Rob Hill Sr. dated for a year before getting engaged in 2015.

They reportedly called off their engagement briefly in July of that year, as explained by Hill. He revealed in conversation with Lil Mo and DJ Quicksilva, “We have a beautiful relationship. We’re not getting married at this point because we understand each other as friends, the right way. There are certain things she needs to do for herself, and there are certain things I need to do.”

They wed in January 2016, but divorced only a few months later. Per TMZ, the split was quiet, swift, and “cordial,” but there was a clause in their divorce decree that states neither LeToya nor Rob could make public statements about the other or “provide photos, videos, recordings or other documents” to the press.

Tommicus Walker: 2017-2021

LeToya and Tommicus Walker wed in December 2017. They went public with their relationship that August, the day after he proposed. They met through a mutual friend and per LeToya’s request, she didn’t want Walker to know her full name or anything about her.

At the time, she told ESSENCE, “Immediately the chemistry was there. We started talking and laughing. He’s from Texas just like me. Talking to him felt like being home again. We talked for a few weeks and he still didn’t know what I looked like or my full name or anything like that.” They bonded over their mutual faith and he later confessed to having her crush on her in high school. However, what won her over was him getting to know her personally. “He gets me, but he sees Toya. And that’s what I’ve always wanted,” she explained.

They welcomed their daughter, Gianna Iman, in January 2019 and their son, Tysun Wolf, in October 2020. Three months later in January 2021, the couple announced they were divorcing.

On July 27, LeToya Luckett married entrepreneur Taleo Coles in a private ceremony in Houston.

“Marriage was something we both wanted,” Luckett told PEOPLE. “It means everything to have a partner who loves me and my kids deeply.” Separately, she told ESSENCE, “I feel like our story is one of hope. For thesingle momswho might doubt that love and ablended familyare possible, I hope our journey shows them that it’s never too late to find happiness and build something beautiful.”

When sharing photos from her fabulous wedding, including footage of her wedding vows, the singer wrote on Instagram, “Taleo, My love. My answered prayer. My great Hope realized. I adore you.
